Marriage, Poverty and Child Well-Being
In 2002, HSPC hosted a forum entitled, Marriage, Poverty and Child Well-Being, featuring a keynote speech by Wade Horn, Assistant Secretary of Children and Families at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Other speakers were Mike Fishman, Senior Vice President of The Lewin Group; Kristen Harknett, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania; Avis Jones-DeWeever, Study Director of the Institute for Women's Policy Research; and Robert Lerman, Urban Institute Senior Fellow and American University Economics Professor. The University of Washington's Center for Research on Families co-sponsored this event.
