Examining Child Poverty in Washington State
On June 3, 2008 Washington Kids Count co-sponsored Examining Child Poverty in Washington State with Children's Alliance and Children's Home Society. Achievements for the day included:
- A briefing on recent poverty trends and conditions in Washington;
- A primer on evidence-based anti-poverty policies;
- Lessons learned from other states that have initiated strategic planning to reduce or eliminate child poverty; and
- A discussing of potential next steps on how to address child poverty in Washington State
